Case study George Dykes
George Dykes contacted D&J Steels with an urgent request for a special grade of steel to fulfil an order that had unexpectedly increased at the last moment. Utilising D&J’s extensive network of contacts, they were able to source the special grade of steel and deliver it to George Dykes the same day. George Dykes were then to forge the steel that afternoon and were able to fulfil their full order by the following day.
“Due to the quick reaction from D&J Steels, we were able to satisfy a pull forward on our customers schedule and exceed their expectations. This was literally down to material availability on the morning of our phone call, and us being able to forge parts the same afternoon. I am sure we will both benefit from this level of service to our customer”

Recent investment in two new high speed circular saws, installed in 2014 has helped D&J Steels maintain a high level of customer service while containing costs.
The Tsune 101 cuts steel from 15mm up to 100mm, while the Tsune TK5c cuts from 30mm up to 180mm. This latter saw has reduced the cutting time on a 100mm square billet from over 5 minutes to 48 seconds.
This new equipment brings D&J’s compliment of saws to 15, allowing the company to cut a wide range of sizes and lengths, to meet most requirements and allow a high level of service.
